I know these a waaaay late, but I finally got to a point I had to post them. But here they are, pictures and some video from the UNYAUG meeting back in January. I hop you enjoy them!

Meeting on January 14th Getting Closer!

Happy New Year! If you haven’t already, let us know you’re coming to the meeting in East Greenbush, NY on January 14th, so we can be looking for you. Also if you would like to donate to the cost of the club house for the meeting, let us know that as well. The more people that donate, the lower the donation needed!So far for demos, we have a MorphOS demo lined up and possibly an AROS demo. Other surprises may be in stored as well. If anyone would like to do a demo, please let us know so we can get you setup. The more, the merrier!

Also, if you’re planning on attending, please bring a camera for pictures as we would like to share the gather with others online as much as possible. We’re hoping to have a live web stream setup on Ustream, for those who can’t come, to still see what’s going on.

UNYAUG Meeting January 14th, in East Greenbush, N.Y.

A location has been secured for the upcoming meeting on January 14th, 2011. It will be held in East Greenbush, NY at the Mill Creek Clubhouse, on Mill Creek Drive, and will start at 10am and go till when we breakup. A schedule of events is being worked on. As of right now, the meeting will be B.Y.O.B. and a small kitchen will be available for anyone wishing to bring a lunch with them if they don’t want to order out.

As we move closer, and as more details are worked out, more info will be shared. Anyone with questions, or anyone wishing to do a demo, is asked to contact Rich Lawrence via his email.

UNYAUG Demo from 2007

We’re still working on nailing down a place to meet, and we going through the shortlist. In the mean time, here is a video from the last meeting, of a demo that was kind of like a “dark horse”. This wasn’t expected, but we’re real happy it did!This is a demo of an Amiga 2000 playing back Ham images taken from an AVI file at 15 fps. The code for the player was written in machine code, so it ran super fast. And I can remember seeing this on a Classic A2000 was just jaw dropping. It makes you think of how powerful the Amiga was back in the 90′s, and shows why they have lasted for 25 years. If you can do this with 25 year old technology, imagine what you might be able to do with new Amiga Hardware.

Trevor Dickinson Presentation at AmiWest 2011

The video and media for last weekends AmiWest show in Sacramento, California, is starting to come out and be posted online. Trevor’s presentation on the AmigaOne X1000, was full of great information and entertaining. Trevor talked about the timeline of development for the A1X1000, as well as giving more info on recent announcements made about the new computer system. Afterwards, Trevor took some questions from the audience. Here is the video courtesy of Cloanto, makers of Amiga Forever.

Just Testing for a new Facebook and Tweet

Hi, just ignore this. I am testing to see if the new plugins I installed are working. There should be a post on our Facebook Page and a Tweet that went out with a hash tag of #amiga and #test.

So I guess we’ll see what happened. Did anything happen? Let em check it!

Either you like Facebook or don’t, we now have a presence on there to help connect with other Amiga users in the world. We’re stronger together, then apart. So I invite those who visit this page and are on Facebook to please “Like” our Facebook page, and invite those who are Amiga/MorphOS/AROS users to “Like” us as well.

Welcome to A New Website

With the launch of the new Amigaos.net, and an email from Rich Lake, who co-ordinates the user group list on that site asking if we had a webpage, I figured I would set one up for the group. Now it’s time to flesh it out. What are some of your suggestions?

Do you want to see Amiga news posted on here, or just group news? What do you want to see posted? And is there anyone else who would want to help with maintaining this site and keeping it up to date? If you are interested, please contact me, and let me know so I can get you access to this site.

Also, maybe an article posted once in a while about AROS or MorphOS or even Amiga would be good, as regular updates to the site, help generate traffic as well as up your search rankings on many search engines. And please submit ideas for the site. The more involved we all can get, the better the group will be I think. So if you have suggestions for the website, please don’t hesitate to let us know about them.

Save the date in your calendars! The Upstate New York Amiga Users Group will be meeting in East Greenbush, N.Y. on Saturday, January 14th at the Mill Creek Clubhouse.We would appreciate anyone who is planning on attending, to let us know so we can make sure we have plenty of room for anyone who wishes to setup any displays or demos. This is open to to the public and we welcome anyone who wishes to attend. If you would also like to do a demo for Amiga, AROS or MorphOS, please let me know.
